Our NY Fashion Week Consultant
There’s nothing more important in the fashion world than Fashion Week. And almost as important as what’s strutting down the runway, is what everyone watching them is wearing! So when I had the opportunity to attend, I knew I wanted to be wearing an outfit that was perfectly ‘me.’ I could try and be all high fashion and someone I’m not, or I could go with what makes me feel great. And that? Is bright colors, vintage shapes and plaid.
But not just any plaid would do for fashion week. Oh no, I NEEDED those aqua and red plaid pants from Anthropologie that I had let slip thru my fingers in final sale. So I set up an ebay alert looking for them, and each day when my email arrived, I was disappointed. They showed up a few times, but never in my size, and typically mixed in with all sorts of not-so-cute, oddly shaped pants. Then one night, in a fit of insomnia, I was trolling ebay trying different search terms to find them…and there they were! In my size! Moving carefully, as not to wake my husband (I didn’t want to have that conversation – “honey, what are you doing?” “oh, just buying aqua and red plaid pants on the internet.” “at 2 a.m.?” “when else does one buy plaid pants on the internet?” – I crept downstairs and pulled out my credit card (note to self – must memorize cc # for further insomnia-fuled shopping sessions) and clicked ‘buy.’
And you know what? They were perfect. Perfectly me. And that’s what fashion is really all about.
