A Brief History
It all began in Lansing, MI and was mostly inspired by the heckling I received from my co-workers at Traction. These co-workers (who I secretly have great admiration for) noticed that I was wearing plaid rather frequently. Of course I was wearing lots of plaid, what else was I supposed to wear? Solid colors? Polka dots? Stripes that don’t intersect? Argyle? Not a chance.
On the morning of August 26, 2010 I had a small epiphany (I was standing right about here when it happened). Plaidurday! The word just came to mind. From where? No clue, but maybe there’s a higher being who just happens to like plaid. So I rushed to the office, found out that the domain name was available, and bought it right then!
It was obvious, a day was needed to celebrate plaid. To bring together all the wonderful plaid-wearing people of the world.
Oh, and I’m not trying to be anonymous, but some of you might want to know who is behind all of this. That would be me.
